It was a beautiful day and I drove out to the Wild Rivers to find a place to paint. I stopped at the first overlook and decided that was the spot! Only had 1 car pull in while I was painting. It was a Monday so it was extra quiet.

Spring in New Mexico is always filled with crazy weather. Today was no different. Working FAST outside by the gorge bridge trying to capture the DARKNESS and velocity of the storm. Hard in pastel as the darks come first...but they kept getting bigger!

On a beautiful autumn day I too my dog on a hike to Santa Barbara Divide in the Pecos Wilderness.....we had an agreement. Hike then watch Mom paint. It worked out for both of us. The hillside was in full autumn....sienna...orange...red...yellow. Sky a brilliant blue. What a gift!
