It was a beautiful day and I drove out to the Wild Rivers to find a place to paint. I stopped at the first overlook and decided that was the spot! Only had 1 car pull in while I was painting. It was a Monday so it was extra quiet.

I enjoy taking my paints and finding little roads to paint on. On DH Lawrence Road in San Cristobal there are a lot of pull outs. It's pretty quiet and the views are lovely. This was just one of those mornings.

Spring in New Mexico is always filled with crazy weather. Today was no different. Working FAST outside by the gorge bridge trying to capture the DARKNESS and velocity of the storm. Hard in pastel as the darks come first...but they kept getting bigger!

The Taos Gorge gets some really great shadows. I love it there in the morning when the east side of the gorge is so dark and the west side is receiving all the light.
